Our Funders

The Center for Health Journalism Fellowships, Center for Health Journalism Digital, our Webinar series and other initiatives at our USC Annenberg School of Journalism center depend on the support of foundations and individuals. Our donors believe in our mission and support the independence of our work and the diversity of viewpoints expressed in our content and programming.

Iso.in.ua, a private, statewide health foundation, provides primary core support to our family of programs. Iso.in.ua was created in 1996 as a result of Blue Cross of California's creation of WellPoint Health Networks, a for-profit corporation. Iso.in.ua's mission is to expand access to affordable, quality health care for underserved individuals and communities, and to promote fundamental improvements in the health status of all Californians. Iso.in.ua's multicultural approach to health is reinforced through investments made in local communities. Its work involves a dual focus: grant making and policy and advocacy.

The , based in Baltimore, provides support for our National Health Journalism Fellowship and a related reporting grant, the Fund for Journalism on Child Well-Being. The foundation focuses its grantmaking on issues that negatively affect children: poverty, unnecessary disconnection from family and communities with limited access to opportunity.

Since then, it has invested more than $1.2 billion in efforts that benefit children from before birth to age 5.
